Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with initiating the contemporary scientific study of children's eyewitness memory and child victimes as witness in court situations. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer who has received several prizes and grants. She has consulted with various governments and agencies across the world on policies and research on children's victimization within the court system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of several professional associations, such as those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
